Stinson Park Plein Air Gary Garrett painting demo

PLEASE WATCH IN HIGH QUALITY - - - This was our February paint-out of the First Coast Plein Air Painters (2-28-09) at Stinson Park (also known as Lakeside Park) on the Ortega River in Jacksonville, Florida. It is a beautiful park with views of the Grand Boulevard Bridge, moored sailboats, a marina and the city skyline. My painting includes the bridge which was built in 1927... for more on this area visit :

My painting is another 6-color (White, yellow, yellow ochre, crimson, Prussian blue, paynes gray) done on gessoed Masonite hardboard, leaving a 2" border for the simulated linen border (my next video). It was a VERY windy day with gusts around 45 knots, which blew Everyone's work off their easels (including mine). Got paint all over my hands today!! It's not a big problem with my acrylics, but some of the oils added a lot of natural elements... sand... grass etc. The folks using the park were very complimentary to all of us.
