Bird Paintings by Frances McMahon (video 3)

Three paintings exploring the textures of wood and water.
Sometimes it's important to step outside your comfort zone, and paint something you've never done before. Water is something I had been afraid of, so it was time I took the plunge (no pun intended!).
Each painting takes between 30 and 165 hours to complete, using a minute brush with only a few hairs. Backgrounds are airbrushed, although the duck and pelican paintings utilized a lot of brushwork over the initial airbrush ground.
NO special effects were used, other than the sharpen filter.
